“All Hat”

Great analysis at FoxNews.  And they used the phrase “all hat, no cattle.”  I called him an empty suit.  Whatever phrase you use, it’s clear that either the administration is lying, or it is inept.

When the explosion first happened, the administration made a choice to rely on BP.  They were the experts and assured him they could handle it. So he went on a vacation in North Carolina.  His interior secretary also went on vacation.

“For 9 days after the initial explosion the president remained silent. His administration relied on BP to respond instead of swinging into action with every asset available to insure a rapid, necessary and proper response. The administration’s immediate response was to state that this was BP’s problem and that they would be held accountable for any and all damages that flowed from their accident.”

Finally, the uncontained spill began to threaten the US coast, and the President sprang into action.  He went to go see the beaches one last time before the oil got there, and mobilized his staff to start telling everyone they were working on the problem.  Listen to how many times you heard “from day one” on the Sunday talk shows.

Fox News points out this sounds a lot like the attempted Christmas day airline bombing, “the first act on terror on American soil since 9/11.”  Secretary Napalitano had thought it was a single individual acting alone, and Attorney General Holder read him his rights and gave him a public defender.  Mr Obama was vacationing in Hawaii and didn’t weigh in for 3 days, not until it became clear the man was working as part of a Yemeni Al Qaeda terror group.

And so we say he is “all hat, no cattle” – all talk, no action.  I believe that he underestimates the importance of the office, of prompt action on the important issues, and that he is generally ineffective at controlling the situations.  I have to.  The only other explanation is that he is lying about his involvement and purposely waited until a small problem became a major crisis for him to step in to fix.  He’s not that uncaring, is he?

  1. Interesting. Thanks for that, however that is not the limit of my appreciation. I am afflicted with color blindness (deuteranopia in my case). I mostly use Safari browser (unsure if that changes anything), and far too many websites are hard to comprehend on account of a poor range of colors used. In your case, as the selection of colors is fine, the site is amazingly tidy and easy to read.
